Come Inside! Have a look Around…

You’re always guaranteed a warm welcome at the Porthcurno Beach Cafe!

We’ve been busy! Over the past few months during our winter closure, we have lovingly renovated the Porthcurno Beach Cafe. As you can see in the image above, there is a new driftwood styled sign above the entrance, an introduction to the cafe’s new image and hints at what is to come.  Inside, we’ve created a retro hipster beach feel by adding rustic wooden cladding to the walls and continued the wooden theme to include the tables, chairs, shelving and retail spaces. We’ve also added a vintage style wood burner heater in the dining section for those chillier evenings.

A selection of fine wines, spirits and local beers now available at the Porthcurno Beach Cafe.

The cafe is now fully licensed and we are pleased to offer a fine selection of wines, beers and spirits in addition to our great selection of coffees, teas and other beverages.

Ready for a tour? Yes? Ok, let’s go!

Rustic wood compliments the retro beach theme.

As you enter, you’ll still find the serving counters on the left, but the eye is immediately drawn to the back wall, the first of two retail areas in the cafe. The back wall, with its hipster inspired artwork and chunky wood, is the perfect backdrop to the fun retro range of beach paraphernalia on display.

Behind the counters, on the wall, there are large blackboards displaying the menus; food, beverages and bar. Chalkboard Art has been used to create nautical inspired illustrations with eye-catching handwritten typography in the same theme. The cafe still serves a great selection of teas and coffees; cakes, sandwiches, panini, baguettes, soup, salads and more!

Dining area and further retail space.

The colour palette is subtle consisting of shades pale blue, grey and cream – the styling is uber contemporary coastal, which is more in evidence in the interior dining section of the cafe.  The cool hipster vibe is continued here with the blonde wooden tables and chairs, pops of colour from lampshades and artwork compliment the the overall theme. There is an image of a very large lobster on the dividing clad wall leading to the rear retail area, which is outstanding and fits perfectly into the space. The wood burner heater creates a great focal point positioned in the fireplace, itself complete with a chunky wooden beam. This is a great place to enjoy a coffee, a tea or a glass of something stronger, whilst leisurely reading the daily newspapers.

The second retail area at the rear displays beachwear and has a fitting room, so no second guessing when buying swimwear!
